Cat hunting games

You see it every day. There is always something that awakens the hunting instincts of your cat. After approaching its prey stealthily, nimbly and quietly, ¡your cat will pounce with striking accuracy! Your cat carries it in its genes. Cats are better than dogs in vertical territories. And they have a great deal of patience. They are very good at moving noiselessly and stalking stealthily to get their trophy. At home, they will also hunt on instinct and pounce on any object they feel attracted to and on prey that are difficult to catch. They won't show any interest in easy prey. They are proud and very fond of challenges. Your cat will chase its prey the way it chooses, always carefully, receiving information through its whiskers and crouched so as not to be seen... And, when the time comes, it will sprint and jump, or directly ¡pounce on its prey! But the game will not be over so soon. In the wild prey may escape, so by chasing them your cat will be practising an excellent physical activity that will keep it fit and away from becoming overweight. We should keep in mind that domestic cats do less than ten per cent of the exercise they would do in the wild to find their food. So try to spend at least 15 minutes every day playing "hunting games" with your cat; this will not only keep it fit, it will also strengthen your relationship. For these games you may use plush mouse cat toys, cat feathers to move them imitating the flight of a bird, or any toy your cat may show a predilection for, such as a simple paper ball or a rope. When you get to set a daily game routine, you will find your cat waiting for you the next time you have a game session; do not be surprised if it sometimes "tells" you that it's time to play by choosing you momentarily as a prey.
